The experience events including Deumdol-Deulgi (stone lifting), a part of the unique coming-of-age ceremony of Jeju, and Lucky Pig Herding Competition open the last day of the festival.
Congratulatory performances from international sister cities and a closing performance with Saebyeol-oreum will be presented on the main stage to deliver the message of the festival for the peace and well-being of all visitors. The torch is lit and all move to a large Moon House. Then, the closing ceremony will become more magnificent with a Volcanic Eruption Show on the top of Oreum presenting the eruption of a volcano, lighting a large Moon House, igniting Saebyeol-Oreum and Burning Prayer Belts, in that order.
Furthermore, tourists will be able to take part in the Jubul-Nori (an event in which village residents light fire to rice paddy lands and river banks to drive away rats and mice) and pray for good luck for the year as they watch the fire. The festival takes on greater enthusiasm as tourists enjoy the magnificence of the burning Oreum, sing a Ganggang-Suwolrae (group circle dance) with a folk band and dance to the traditional folk rhythms.
The blazing Oreum, tourists filling the square, fireworks, and a fantastic light and laser show will usher in the finale of the festival.
The final stage is closed by the delivery of the promise for the next Jeju Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival in 2013. ¡Ø When the Saebyeol-Oreum has nearly burnt out, a large-scale event will be presented for about one hour as a way to reduce the traffic load after the finale.
